Marc D. Bello, Partner

Marc is a founding Partner of Strive Partners. His practice includes advising clients in the areas of business valuation, forensic accounting, and consulting. With decades of experience, Marc has worked on matters for litigation purposes, compliance purposes, transition and succession matters, and various other consultative needs. Marc’s litigation and dispute work has included fair value, fair market value, damages, and other investigative matters.

Marc values companies at all lifecycle stages and varying settings, including early-stage ventures, closely held family businesses, partnership interests, and companies with complicated capital structures. This includes dealing with companies in most industries, such as accountants, consultants, various types of construction and contracting companies, defense, insurance and financial services, alternative investments, various retail and brick-and-mortar type establishments, health care, manufacturers, real estate, technology, and wholesale/sales.

Marc has been accepted as an expert witness on several occasions. These litigation engagements have related to business valuation matters, forensic accounting analysis, and tax and financial issues. Marc has testified in the U.S. Tax Court and Massachusetts Superior and Probate Courts, as well as in superior and probate courts in other jurisdictions.

Marc has authored numerous articles related to divorce, forensic accounting, and family business operations. He is a lecturer on issues of business valuation and forensic accounting at conferences around the country. Marc was an instructor for the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts as part of the Business Valuation Training Center team and Best Practices in Business Valuation team. He was also one of the lead instructors for the Current Updates in Valuation.

He currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Massachusetts Continuing Education and serves on the Family Law Advisory Committee for Massachusetts Continuing Education. 

He is a past chair of NACVA’s Executive Advisory Board, Valuation Credentialing Board, Litigation Forensics Board and Education Quality Assurance Board. 

Prior to forming Strive Partners, Marc was a Managing Director of Willamette Management in Boston and was a partner at Edelstein & Company LLP. In both positions, he provided litigation support in the areas of forensic accounting and taxation for dispute resolution purposes. Marc prior experienced also included performing financial reporting and analysis for Rhodia ChiRex, managed accounting and tax engagements for privately held companies at Ambrosi Donahue Congdon & Company P.C., and managed audit and tax engagements for public and private companies at Grant Thornton.

Marc holds numerous accounting, valuation, and forensic certifications, including a CPA, ABV, CFF, CVA, and MAFF. Marc has a bachelor’s degree from Ithaca College, and a Master of Science in taxation from Bentley College.
